Greetings! I’m Chris Nelson and I am running for the Iowa House of Representatives in District 58 to serve Adair, Audubon, Guthrie, and eastern Cass counties. As a recent graduate of Iowa State University I have returned to Adair County where I have grown up with my parents Daryl, Janna, and my younger brother Trevor on our family farm. While growing from a toddler, to teenager, to young adult I have had the great fortunate and blessing to have been influenced and mentored by many outstanding individuals who make up the community in which my roots have been deeply established; tremendous individuals whom have given of themselves selflessly and asked for nothing in return. Coupled with my passion for farming and agriculture, it is this spirit that has influenced my decision to return to rural Adair County and do my part in continuing the tradition of strong communities, solid work ethics, and selfless service that make rural America the greatest community on Earth. It is also in this spirit that I have decided to run for public office. I believe that I can offer fresh perspectives and solutions to the challenges that confront us, in addition to offering a vision for the future and direction of our community and state. I feel that my ability to listen to and understand others, the aptitude to think broadly and deeply, a desire to serve others and work to advance the common good, and dedicated work ethic to accomplish goals make me a candidate you can be proud of.
